Abstract: The inheritance and development of the Bai ethnic medicine have experienced four stages: the early stage of the
association with witch doctors, the integration of religions during the period of Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms, the integration of
traditional Chinese medicine during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the collision between modern and western medicine. A
compatible medical system has been formed in the multicultural background, and has become a treasure of national medical culture in
China and also a model for human multicultural exchanges.
